The main purpose for this project is for us as a group to design a small portable crane to help remove rubble in a disaster such as an earthquake. The main reason for that is, that on many occasions there have been natural disasters (e.g. earthquakes) where large numbers of people end up being trapped under the debris and rubble of the buildings.
